The Geocaching Glossary
The Geocaching GlossaryOver the years, geocaching has developed its own set of terms, slang and abbreviation. If you play the game for any length of time, terms like "muggle" and "FTF" will become a natural part of your vocabulary, but to the new cacher or uninitiated these terms can be confusing. The geocaching glossary is always growing and developing just as the game is. One feature of the Geocacher University glossary is that--in addition to searching terms in this page--you will find definitions within the articles and content of the site. Simply put your mouse over the linked terms (identified with this question mark ) and the definition will pop-up.
With any dictionary there are always questions of the accuracy of the definition. I make no pretense of in depth knowledge of technical terms. In writing these definitions I've tried to keep in mind the question, "If we were talking about geocaching over a cup of coffee how would I describe this term?" As always, I welcome your input on this section. If you have any words you would like to see defined or if you find mistakes or need for further clarification please contact me and I will do my best to address the issues. |
